What is conversion rate?

Conversion rate reports the percentage of users who complete a conversion goal. For example, if your site had 100 visits in January and you had 3 people fill out your contact then you’d have a 3% conversion rate. A conversion must be clearly defined because they differ depending on the type of site being visited. A conversion for a retail site is the purchase of a product, whereas a conversion for an attorney's website might be visiting the "Contact" page.
