The webinar included insights from industry experts Suzie Reider (Managing Director for Brand Solutions) and Mark McMaster (Global Product Lead for YouTube Advertising).

Reider showed how the #1 show on television in the 1980s and 1990s had tens of millions of viewers while the #1 show on television today attracts approximately 1/10th of that.

While a 30 or 60 second primetime TV spot is costly, YouTube ads offer higher viewership than TV at lower costs. TrueView YouTube ads, the ads that play before a video starts, cost nothing to the advertiser if the ad is skipped. This means that you’re only paying to show your ad to people who are interested in your offer.

Additionally, while it can be difficult to target niche markets on TV, YouTube allows you to put your ad in front of people who have an interest in your products or services.”
