The popular e-commerce intermediary PayPal has been experiencing outages today. The company blog has confirmed these issues and has updated the posting further, saying the issues have been resolved and the site's API is up and running again.
According to PayPal’s Wikipedia page, “PayPal operates in 190 markets, and it manages over 223 million accounts, more than 73 million of them active. PayPal allows customers to send, receive, and hold funds in 19 currencies worldwide.”
Those figures indicate that this issue could cost quite a bit of money.
