Facebook is switching everyone to the Timeline format March 30th.
"Facebook Pages have been redesigned to help you brand your page, highlight what matters, and manage everything in one place. Your Page will automatically get the new design on March 30th, but don't wait that long!" reads an official Facebook alert.
Timeline brings major aesthetic changes to your Facebook page. It’s essential to know what these changes are so you can react and represent your business in a professional, accurate and appealing way.
Is your Page ready?
1. Have you checked the display of the new design to ensure everything displays correctly? The timeline transition could emphasize or deemphasize the wrong parts of your Facebook page.
2. Have you chosen a cover photo? This is important! The cover photo takes up the top of your page and is by far the largest feature of the page. The cover photo is the largest appearance change in the timeline transition. It’s also the first thing a visitor will see, so carefully choose your cover photo.
3. Have you reviewed the content in the timeline? More importantly, have you added to it? Facebook now gives you the opportunity to go back to the very start of your company.
4. Are you thinking of ways to use the new format to better promote your brand? Preview or early adapt the timeline layout so your business is prepared and properly adapted to this change. This change could help or hurt your brand, and being proactive allows you to make this adjustment work for you.
You built your Facebook Page to make a good impression and connect with your customers—don't let this change catch you off guard.
